Those have got to be some of the most callous insensitive comments that can be made to someone who has just been victimized by an inattentive or out right reckless driver, and had their car destroyed.

I am quite sure people that spew this crap have never had a special car destroyed by some inattentive moron.

"Well The earth didn't come to an end so quit your crying and *****ing about your stupid car and get on with your life."

The worse part about this is you think your offensive comments are helpful, you don't even realize you have a callous attitude toward the sufferings of others.

It could be a lot better too! The dumb *** who hit the innocent victims car could have payed more attention and been a better driver too.

Sure you life is important, but that fact, you being all right doesn't magically remove your attachment to or the importance of your car.
[/RANT]

When the stupid department of transportation guy kept saying that to me on the scene of my accident, I told him to shut his mouth and not say it again or I would knock him on his ***.

People Please!

WOW! The ONLY reason you can actually say this nonsense is because Scott's son is ok and does have his health! I understand what you're trying to convey but at the end of the day I can bet my life Scott would give up EVERY possession he owns and even his life it it saves his sons! If given the choice to burn my Mustang to save his son's life, strike a match, get some charcoal cause we're having a bar-b-que!!!
[/Rant]
Scott, I'm very happy your son is safe, it does suck greatly about his Stang. After having an idiot wreck my baby last Sunday 10/4 I know how he feels! Angelina took the hits for me.

Best of luck with the repairs!

Well, we got the word today. It is totaled. He only got to use it for 3 weeks. We are just waiting for the final information on the payoff. The 2 insurance companies still need to come to terms. We are stuck for now paying our deductible. Hopefully some justice will be found and we can get it back.

We are now starting to look for a replacement. We have found a 2000 V6 with 58000 for $5300. It may be an option.

I appreciate all of the comments out there. First off, and definitely most important, let me say that I am very happy my son was not injured. That being said, it was a hard thing for my son to go through. His first car, and he only had it 3 weeks, and he was not at fault, just in the wrong place at the wrong time and taken advantage of by someone else and a police officer who was easily manipulated. Everyone seemed to go with the stereotype that the teenage driver was at fault. It has been a tough lesson for him to learn, but hopefully now he can start to put the experience behind him.

If anyone knows of any good cars in the Utah area in the $7000 range (or less), let me know.

Thanks

Good News

Well, it took a while, but we were able to get my sons car replaced.

It is a 2000 v6 with 58,000 miles. He is pleased and glad to be back on the road.

Here are a couple of pics.

I love black cars (when they are clean - which they never are). I told him good luck with that.

I know the feeling; just a month ago, my 1993 jeep wrangler sahara 5 speed soft top was destroyed by an elderly man not paying attention, I have grown up in that jeep, but now I've got my 2002 mustang V6 5-speed and working on getting my jeep to road worthy status
