Unexpected body work... :(

Got cracked this morning on the highway, think this can be buffed out? I'm sore but otherwise alive. Angie didn't fair as well, every panel took a hit from something except the roof.

Headed to work on the Gowanus Exp in Bklyn, driving in the right lane at 5am when a white Mercedes (i think it was) decides he wanted to be in my lane. Sadly I was already in the spot he wanted! He hits me on driver side which pushes me into concrete barriers on my passenger side which then pinballs me to the left hitting the guardrail there and spins me right round baby right round... (gotta laugh or I'll cry lol) Wasn't racing but the roads were slick with fog and a light rain.
Went to hospital with back pains and neck pains. Trying to get police report asap and a witness did stop and leave his number, he barely avoided the accident as the mercedes bounced off me and went into his lane.

Now the waiting game. Think they'll total her?

Man. That's a pretty car. It's just too bad... the damage looks like it touched everything... gonna be 'spensive, but they're still worth a pretty good buck, so... they may just fix it.

I hope they catch the guy, and make him *pay*.

And take care of yourself, first, of course, sorry to hear you're hurtin' a little too.

Good you walked away number one...

airbags didnt deploy- thats a good thing- thats a lot of sheetmetal and paint at best, if nothings hurt underneath, I'd guess they will fix it- bet theres 12k of work there though...if the core support wasnt hurt(looks ok, but a bit flat over there) I bet they will fix her up...

if they catch the guy that did the hit and run, well I can only hope he'd turn himself in, and start out with a sincere apology- otherwise, no mercy I'm afraid...accidents happen, if we drive long enough sooner or later we'll all hit something- but theres no excuse for those that run and hide, try to leave someone holding the bag for their mistakes...I worked with a very nice guy- kind of guy that would do anything to help anyone, never a bad thing to say, never cursed or in a bad mood, etc. that got killed up towards cleveland by a woman driving a chevy astro IIRC- he had to change a flat, she was over the line and hit him, glanced off the car, and kept going... several witnesses, but they never did find her though...he had two young kids at home...luckily they werent in the car- not that it woulda mattered to the selfish fool that hit him.

Anyway, in the repair estimates, be CERTAIN they include a diminished value claim- that was a absolutely beautiful car- at the very least they owe you that- at least get some mod money out of this. I bet 15~20% book would be fair to ask- it could affect selling price for that, so its only fair they make up for ALL the damage done. if they find the idiot that ran, Id stick them for as much as possible- you got your tracking data, mod lists, printout posts from in here, pics, comments, etc...any/all could show this as a 'special' vehicle- your insurance company might not agree, but with a hit/skip, the other guys would be hard pressed to disagree, as they are on shaky ground due to the actions of those they represent...

glad you were still here to tell us about it- highway speed accidents can get ugly more often than not- guess Gods not done with you here yet- so congratulations on that

That's weak bro. I'm really glad that you are still here to tell us this horrible story. I also hope justice finds that guy rather it by the law or by the culling process.

Hey bud, I'm so sorry about your car!!! I remember seeing it down at Kindle 2008! Your car is STUNNING!!! I hope they catch the M-B driver so you can go after them for anything and everything possible!! Best thing, your okay, and alive. Cars can be fixed or replaced, but your life, not so much! Hang in there buddy.

The guy who hit me did stay, I didn't get out of the car but I know he did stay and wait for highway patrol.

I still have to get a copy of the police report and hear what the adjuster has to say.

Thanks again for the support! I'll keep you all posted.
