Clutch Situation
I recently (today in fact) picked up a 2001 mustang that I paid for a week ago. Anyway, I was driving home, and realized just how tight the clutch on this car is. The guy I bought it from said that he had the clutch replaced recently and that when the new clutch was put in the friction point became very small. Further, according to the guy I bought it from, when he returned the car to the mechanic to get the clutch adjusted, the mechanic told him that it was hydraulic, and therefore could not be adjusted. From what I have read I think the 2001 v6s have a cable clutch, but I am not sure.
I have seen adjustable clutch cables, such as this one:

but it seems like these are only for the v8 mustangs (mine is obviously a v6). I have driven many other manual cars, and this clutch is the touchest thing I have ever driven. In fact, it is so touchy that I can barely drive the car as is, and would really like to get this fixed.
One more question - is there a possiblity that this has more to do than with the way the clutch was adjusted? Could this mean that I need a whole new clutch (even though this one is about 1 year old)?
Any help would be very greatly appreciated, I am almost afraid to drive the car as is, (it really isn't fun this way) and would love to have this thing as it should be so that I can go out and have fun shifting gears, rather than stalling and hopping all over the place as is.
Thanks again,
Ryan

im not sure exactly how to answer your question, i was told though by a mechanic that my 95 gt has a hydrolic clutch (i forget why it came up). he said something like they changed it in 94 because its not as stiff , i cant imagine that they wouldnt do it for v6's, it wouldnt make sense
hopefully this link maybe able to help you out on clutch adjustment http://www.corral.net/tech/drivetrain/clutcha.htm also heres a link for an adjuster cable and adjuster kit for your clutch it doesnt list wether or not its for GT or v6 but i do believe they both came with the T3650 so it'd be the same 5spd transmission http://www.mustangtuning.com/mutucladkit.html
I believe the V-6 came with a T-45. Also, the Mustang didn't get a hydraulic clutch until the '05 redesign. Have you driven any other Mustangs? Could just be that that's the way it is. The clutch in my GT took some getting used to after the hydraulic one in my Honda.
