Looks like i'm going to be getting an 04' V6 for my first car...(but i'm trying to weasle my way to a base GT )
Anyway I was just wondering how the V6 responds to upgrades, like the intake and exhaust and other little stuff. I don't expect big power boost (although that would be nice....) just i've heard the 6 puts out 193Hp and 225lb.-ft. and my mom's van puts that out :bang: Although it does weigh a considerable bit more than the stang, sounds a little slugish...
any idea's?

I'd change exhaust first. If you need to do it on the cheap, get a GT take-off from someone. A CAI *MIGHT* help, and wouldn't be that expensive.

If you get a manual, and because of the weight, it'll be reasonably quick for you.

After that, you'll be spending a little more money.

Its not worth the cash to go big on the 6er...but to give it some giddyup (not GT beating ...but more bang...)
Exhaust, CAI, chip, pulley, gears

I have an exhaust, and MAY depending on cashflow...get a CAI but with the 05 less than a year away...I'm thinkin, why bother

Exhaust are tricky on the 6.
Cause everyone wants it to sound like an 8.
I've found Borla's to sound the best (they are 'spensive though)
depends on what you like for sound.

Yeah, like I said, I'm not expecting huge gains, but I want to give it a little more power than it has. HOT ROD put a K&N on a Cobra and got around 26RWHP. But that's the Cobra and I'm talking 6 so it won't be that big of a gain...
But of course, compared to what everyone else at my school is driving I could toast them stock...

26 rwhp with a K&N will be fairly optimisitic. Just doing the filiter you *MAY* get 3-5, but that's best case. The CAI, they claim 10-15. When I added it to my 2000 V6 Vert, I honestly didn't notice that much.

Yeah, the Cobra is a forced induction car, and takes any gains and multiplies them.

Adding a supercharger is like adding cubic inches to the motor.
Bigger the motor, the bigger the gains with 'x' mods.

Full CAI will net you around 10-15 hp.
