2004 Mustang 30000 mile service?
2004 Mustang 30000 mile service?
Hey guys- was wondering that now my car is out of warranty its not necissary to get the services at the dealer right. I figured instead of paying 750 bucks at the dealer for "inspections" and, filters and fluids I could just go to like Jiffy Lube or something. Thoughts? Btw- is anyone else getting 12 miles to the gallon in the city?
Recently mine was getting around 13-15 in the city depending on how much highway I was able to add. However, now that I'm back to doing mostly highway it is closer to 25-27 depending on how much I stay out of the gas. As for the 30,000 mile service, mine had 35,000 when I got it. I think it was driven on the highway a lot cause it was only a year old when I got it. Besides keepin' a check on fluids and changing the spark plugs at 85,000 I haven't done any other maintenance.
I am getting 18 to and from work mixed driving. I would be surprised if it got over 20 on the highway 25 would be amazing. Oh I see you have a v-6 Lowblu.
As far as maintance just changing the oil, checking fluids, air filter, rotate tires, check trans fluid. I haven't done much of anything else with mine. Almost 50k on it now

I get a combined 22 MPG and about 300 miles per fill up. On an all highway trip from Indy to michigan I go 26 MPG. Is you stang AT or MT? 12 sounds really low unless you do 4-5000rpm shifts all the time.
I have never taken my car to the dealer for standard maintenance. Legally they cannot force you to, so technically you have been spending too much for too long anyway. Drop it like a hot potato.
Jiffy lube typically does all my servicing unless it is too busy then off to whomever.
