It has been a long while since I have worked on a car. My son has a 2000 Mustang V6 that the transmission needs replaced. We tried Lucas transmission treatment but it only goes backwards. Are they as easy to replace if you have basic tools as the old style transmissions of 80's and 90's. Thanks for any help.

 

Yeah, it's not much different. Bolts and screws and all that. If you've done them on a '66, you can do it on a 2000, or a 2016, and anything in between. Maybe a few other connectors the old cars didn't have. Recommend the shop manual for that car so as to get all the torques and order of things correct, but trans is a trans is a trans IMO on these Mustangs, as far as swappin' them out.
