1999 V6 longevity? need opinions
I had a '99 V6 bought new,had zero problems out of it until i traded it 115,000 miles later. My best friend bought his '99 V6 new and he still drives it every day,it's got 170,000 miles on it and he has had zero problems in the last 10 years.
If your friend is looking for a v6, if he can find one that's been pretty well taken care of he'll be well off. I had a 95 v6 with, I cant even remember how many miles, and I have an 04 3.8 v6 as my dd with 167k miles. barely has an oil seep, other than regular maintenance and ball joints I haven't had to touch anything else until a couple weeks ago when I finally had to replace the thermostat. Mine sees redline almost everyday, engine doesn't even tick. I expect mine to run well over 200k. just be sure he has the ball joints checked, theres quite a few of us who have had them break on us :P

I have a 2000 v6 mustang that I got with 60,000 miles and have over 220,000 miles with no engine problem I’ve only replaced transmission with over 180,000 miles that’s the only major problem I’ve had. I always Changs the oil at 5,000 miles. I always change the oil on my 2006 6.0 powerstroke but I sill have problems with that. my 2000 mustang has been my backup car and its been on so many dirt/ snowy roads as much as paved roads and still running. Just the suspension has gone out since but still running.
