I finally got a fire extinguisher for my fox (which should have been the first thing I got) but i'm indecisive for where to mount it. Its the 'kidde' brand auto version and i'd say its a little over a foot tall. It comes with a mounting bracket with two velcro tabs, and I bought "industrial grade" velcro to mate to it but I can't find a spot thats out of the way, but within reach from the drivers seat.

I like the idea of having it to the left of the passenger's feet along the side of the center console/drive shaft tunnel but the sticky side of the velcro doesn't seem strong enough to hold the weight of the extinguisher to the carpet. I really don't want to break out the drill to put screws through the floor so does anyone know either a good place to mount the thing using velcro or is there a better, more secure way to mount it along side of the console how I want? If anyone has any pics that would be great.

Why not in the hatch or the back seat area?

By the time you notice a fire yourself..it might be too late already.

I was thinking why not mount it in the center of the rear seat, thats what i posted in the first post, but i didnt think you wanted to know where to mount it but how.

I don't really want it all the back in the hatch. I don't want it ON the rear seat but I was thinking on the driveshaft tunnel right in front of the rear seat, but theres not much room there and it looks like it will interfere with the leg room of any back seat passengers...
Another factor I forgot to mention is that I want it to be kinda noticeable from outside the car 'cause I like the "all business" look it gives off...call me stupid but I like that.
I think the fact that i'm using velcro is limiting my abilities but I appreciate everyone's input, I think i'll just try putting it behind the center arm rest and hopefully soon I can get a picture of it for everyone.

Why not get one of those armrest delete panels and attach it to the top of it. It would be right there incase you need it and it wouldnt be in your way if you gave yourself enough room to shift. Wouldn't look too bad either.
