I want to say the 83-86 years, that had the light plastic nose without the added weight of the EFI and airbags. I think all the 79-86 cars were close though.

79-93 trunk (notch) - they all get right feathery when you strip them down. IIRC a trunk sans AC, PS, and a lightweight k-member with an aluminum head 302 is well under 3000 lbs. I've seen such cars weigh in at a 2600-2700 lbs curb weight.

Geez, guess I had the luck of picking up 5.0 LX notches that tended toward the heavy side. My '88 was listed at 3110 lbs. and my '92 (better equipped) is listed at 3090. Both stock with AODs. Go figure. Another guy with a '89 5.0 LX hatchback w/sunroof and AOD came in under 2900 lbs.
