Urethane bushings, should I buy or not?

On another Mustang forum, the people there said that it would be ok to replace all of the front end of my 93 GT with urethane bushings, but only replace one side or neither of them in the rear???? That didn't make a whole hell of a lot of sence? Anyone on here ever heard of this?

Yes. The 4-link rear tends to bind. I have seen several illustrations and images that show how it moves. I have poly in 6 of the 8 points in rear (OEM bushings in the diff ears) with FMS "C" springs, Tokico Illumina shocks, and Factory Five rear upper and lower arms. It's okay for straight on and a bit of cornering, but not as good as it could with a better arm that has a Heim joint at the chassis. If you make the rear too tight, it will bind and be stiff and you will lift a tire on corners.

What are you wanting to do with the car? Drag? Street? Corner Carver?

Yes, Poly bushings work great but in the rear you need to leave 2 bushings rubber....these can either be the ones in the axle housing or upper control arms. I recommend the axle housing as it's easiest but either will function the same way.

Well, we do cruises and you can definitely let it loose on some moutain roads. Last time I did, I drove home 60 miles with no oil pressure.

So, who told you about putting in poly? And why? You have the 7.5 with the quad shocks and oval bushings in the lower arms at the chassis. How much of a budget do you have?

Budget, lol. NONE! I don't wanna get to insane on the suspension upgrades. I just wanted to beef it up a little, if I even need too? Oh, I've known about poly bushings for a long time. It's the Mustang that I know nothing about....
