Hello guys. So im habing issues with my cold starts. I have to literally stay on gas at about 1300rpm or so to keep it from stalling when cold start. 60f outside so not that cold. Any ideas.? Btw it is a ford 306 crate motor carbureted 9:0:1 comp 600cfm holley hp. Msd ignition and dist. No ac no ps. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Forgot to mention that when it gets at about 130temp and higher temps it idles fine.

Do you have an aftermarket cam? You could hook up a manual choke cable to the carb if you wanted to. See my signature below, when it's cold out, I have to pump the gas about 10 times, turn the key, have it start for a few seconds and quit and repeat that a few times until it will allow me to hold the throttle at a steady 1500-2000rpms until it warms up enough to idle by itself. That all kinda comes with hotrodding.

what are running for timing? If your running alot of advanced timing ( to much advanced timing can cause cold start issues) try backing it of some and see if it helps.

Problem solved. Carburetor had low vac on one side plate. She starts and idle right up. When warm lol. Thanks
