I had the same problem when I changed my throttle body. It was especially sticky when I first started it in the morning. I tried many things until I eventually bought a new cable on ebay for $15... the problem was solved. Check the cable for cracks and splits. Also try spraying WD40 into the cable jacket.
You may also want to have a friend help you adjust the FULL OPEN THROTTLE POSITION... with the car OFF of course, ask them to push the pedal to the floor and you look to make sure the butterfly opens 100%. Of course to see the butterfly you need to have the intake tube off. You may also see where it is sticking if they feather the pedal up and down as you look.
Also, I have seen parts of the cable or linkage hang down low and get stuck on the notch in the valve cover (where the valve cover bolt is). Good Luck
