Should I buy?
#1
I found this for sale. I'm in Birmingham, AL and he's located in Kansas City, MO. I need yall's advice on whether or not I should buy it. He's knocked his price down to $950.
It's really tempting but I'm a college student so money is short and I wanna make sure I'm buying something worthwhile. By the way, I searched Brad's info on 1983 mustangs and couldn't find any info on a "GLX". Do they really exist or is this guy making stuff up? Thanks everyone!
"1983 Mustangs GLX convertible 5.0 4speed for sale. New rack and pinion, new air cleaner, two sets of rims. needs new top.
$1500 negotiable.
pics up soon, very soon, like as soon as i get home from work. The vehicle runs good, it has a good amount of torque to it, very fun to drive. The emergency brake cable on the left side is stuck so the car shakes, we were going to cut it, but we'll wait if you want. a little over 100,000 miles are on it."

Andrew,
They did build a 1983 Ford Mustang GLX 5.0 heres a link to one in a little better condition :P

My advice is to weigh your options. Would you be happy with this car and can you afford it? Now mind you that the car only cost $950 but you will have extra car insurance bills, money towards fixing and repairing any damage, replacing the top, etc.
From the looks of the car (which isn't always everything) it looks to be a full on restoration project. You will have to decide whether the time is right, right now with you being in college or whether you rather wait until you have more money and time to put into it.
Good luck whichever way you go

I wouldnt do it personally. If you figure $950 for the car, then I think it is about $600 or $700 for a new top, plus the cost of going to Ks to get the car, you will already have over 2k in it. Take that and add in all the little things I am sure you will find wrong with it, and you probably could come very close to buying a newer gt vert in much better condition. Plus Zc527 was right, that one looks like a total pos and appears to have been very neglected.
