Geez people. It pulls and the steering wheel shakes. Swap your two front tires from left to right. Go drive it. If it pulls the opposite way, you have a bad tire. If it doesnt pull at all anymore, its still a bad tire. Sounds to me like a steel belt starting to separate. Just swap the front tires side to side and report back.

I had a tire like that a few years back. Same scenario and it drove me nuts. I also had a bad rim (Saleen of course) that had a high spot in the alloy itself. I put 3 tires on that rim before I discovered that it was not the tire.

Anyway, both scenarios the amount of steering shake was amazing at low speed. I posted first in this thread that its a tire and still think it is because of how he's describing the "wobble" vs steering wheel shake. You'll know when it's the caliper or rotor.. May even hear it. The tire toys with you.

It would be good to know the tire size also. I've noticed that tires over 18 inches have a knack for finding every rut in the road and pulling into them.

They are not completely fine with a broken belt -.- they are egg shaped and take 5+ oz to balance in most cases... even then its still noticeable big time...

Sometimes you can't see it unless you know what to look for. Some are subtle and some are not. Glad you got it figured out OP and glad I was right (again)

Yeah my DD is doing the same thing, low speed shake is worse then with higher speeds. I had the brakes redone which were in need but my shaking still continues. It is now my tires which I need to replace anyhow. Hopefully the shakes will go away with new shoes.

Belt in the tire broke?!?!

I mean... either you had really old tires then got them put on, or more likely, the tire was severely curbed or hit a gigantic pothole.

I did this, I misjudged a curb taking a left turn, and curbed the sidewall of my Cooper Zeon RS3A on the left rear... made a nice bulge. Ran around on it for a week, but got it replaced (had to order it in.) Was sorta scared to take turns and such, but I only had the one vehicle at the time, so I ran on it.

But a broken belt... I'm guessin' on the tread? Wow. Just... wow. Not sayin' it can't 'naturally' happen, but I've never had that pleasure except on a ***really*** old tire.

Bought a car drove it around 200 miles belt in tire broke. Then the tire shredded . From that I learned that tires have a life of 8yrs. If you take a tire older than that to a tire shop they won't put them on.
