I am so ready to put it together. I am sure no one else would have this problem but, I am having a hard time getting the machine shop to get done. I thought they balanced everything last week but, I went over there this afternoon and they were balancing it when I was there. I still have hopes of getting the engine together in the next 2 weeks and then start the install.

Balancing is more of a option, a unnessecary one. J/K Redneck fellars dont balance stuff though. I cant wait to see some pics and maybe some videos of the new set-up. Sounds good.

Balancing is not an option if you plan to turn high revs. Stock pistons and rods are more than 500 grams each, the combo I have is just over 300 grams each. Balancing each component and then as a unit will help HP and the life of the engine.

I have to agree with Glenn.. why spend good money on high quality parts and just have something screw up down the road because you wanted to cut corners on the build.

Please tell me you don't really believe that?!? You've obviously never actually built an engine....or just don't care. If you have ever driven or built a balanced engine you will never do otherwise.

I even balanced a 350 going into a work van...not performance but you can't even feel it running.

You really have much to learn there

Man, I hate it when that happens! :bang: No wonder the compression is low.

Update, engine and trans are bolted in, now the long task of hooking things up. Many things were "rigged" before so some effort is needed to do it right.

If that is SAE RWHP, that is the highest number I have ever heard on an 03-04 Cobra without a pulley change or NOS. You must have a very strong one. Who tuned it?

Yeah i'm betting it was Chris Johnson up tuning using the SCT software (he is one of the creators). Any idea who's 04 it was? I am betting on it was the guy that works at Golden Rule BBQ in Pelham. He has some serious exhaust going on and toped off with Chris tuning, I can only imagine it would be good.

on second thought, it may have possibly been the guys from Running With The Devil who uses diablo software for tuning.
