I was told to put in an adjustable fuel regulator to help keep ours from running rich. It's set up the same way as yours. Ive havent put one in yet so I dont know wether or not it truly helps.

The smell is coming from not having cats. Do you have tailpipes all the way out to the rear of the car, or turndowns? Turndowns will make the smell 100 times worse. Also, yea you can lean the car out a bit with an adjustable fuel pressure regulator.
One last note, mustangs run rich from the factory, it is the way Ford tunes them. Rich = safe tune and engine no go boom easily. I wouldnt go trying to lean the car out without having it on a dyno to measure the a/f ratio. Going too lean can lead to bad, bad things.

it has an aftermarket regulator on it. i had it checked and the ford guy that i was talkin with about it says it should be at 40 which is what its at. i dont have any tailpipes on it and i dont have turn downs...its just comin straight out. im soon gonna change it to the american thunder flowmaster system..
