I need to replace the cracked radiator in my 91 LX 5.0L. I see on 50resto.com they have one
http://secure.50resto.com/product1.c...&Product_ID=82
Does anyone know if this is good enough because the local parts store is trying to sell me on a more expensive "3 row" radiator for $220. They also have a "cheap" one for $115. I don't even know if a deeper 3 row radiator would fit with the fan shroud. Does anyone have any advice?

I have a 90 lx 5.0 notchback. The stock radiator was 2 rows. I needed a replacement radiator due to coolant seepage at the bottom of the core. I wanted a radiator with more cooling capacity than the stock unit since I plan to do future engine mods to raise the hp to 300-320. I went to Autozone. They listed a Max Cooling radiator for this car. They said this was a three row radiator which was supposed to be a direct replacement for cars that came factory equiped with a three row radiator. They had no idea if it would fit my car. I took a chance and bought it. I dont remember the exact price but it was around 185.00 . When I pulled out the old radiator and compared it to the new one I noticed one obvious difference. The tank on the passenger side was wider than the stock tank. The Stock 2 row radiator has a wide tank on the drivers side and a narrow tank on the passenger side. In order to make make it fit I had to change the passenger side upper and lower mounts. I used the drivers side mounts from a parts car. The upper radiator hold down brackets required a little bending to make them fit over the top of the tanks. The fan shroud fit with very little modification. All I had to do was take a rat tail file and elongate the two upper mounting holes to give a little more up and down adjustment range to get the clearance right between the fan blades and the shroud. This radiator cools very well. The temp gauge never goes beyond the half way mark even when sitting in traffic running the a/c on a 90 degree day. I installed a March horsepower pulley kit which slows down the engine acessories including the water pump and cooling fan. No problem, the car still runs very cool.

I guess it all depend on how many mods you want to do...

And also, if your going to be installing underdrive pulleys, then you have to compensate for heat, that is if your going to be running the engine hard...
