Please help!!!! Clutch cable problems

My 93' 4 cylinder has gone through so many clutch cables since I first bought it 5 years ago. It's cheap to get fixed but I'm sick of driving anywhere worrying that it might snap again. When I push the clutch pedal down it makes a grinding noise. I'm assuming it may be a pressure plate problem. But I wanna see if there is a way around it. My mechanic always uses a long bolt and nut solution instead of the 3 inch cables. I'm not sure if that is a problem as well. But I've spent years shifting gently and trying to conserve the stress on the cable. But it always snaps eventually. I have no idea what the problem is. If anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated. And if anyone can give me a cost of what the problem is then that would be great.

The wire is probably not routed properly and binding.
Post a picture of the cable in the engine bay.
