Sorry for all the questions but I am obsessed with these cars. I finally bought a convertible and its going to need a top. Can anyone tell me where to get a oem top. I found this link on Ebay and it looked pretty good. I learned that the orginal top was made from Haartz Pinpoint Vinyl. Anything else I should know. Thanks again.

For all your 5.0 Fox Body Mustang needs:

5.0 Resto

WARNING: ONCE YOU BROWSE THIS SITE BE PREPARED TO SPEND LOTS OF MONEY!!!

Seriously though, I've bought a ton of stuff from these guys for my car and highly recommend them. I have to buy two new top latches as mine some how got jammed over the winter. I've also bought door rebuild kits, new window switches, arm rest pads, top seal kit and the list goes on.

Here's a link to their convertible top stuff:

5.0 Resto Conv Tops

Keep in mind that this kit doesn't include any of the seals which you would also want to replace when doing a new top.

I also have spent hundreds of dollars in simple restoration pieces from 5.0 Resto. Sorry though, I don't know any shops in NY to help you with your top.

find a local car club in your area and ask them who they recommend. when i had my 86 vert the shop that did mine charged me less for the top when they bought it than i could have bought it for privately. and i would spend the extra money for the glass rear window. i spend 1100 for my top. but that was all new seals padding weatherstripping.
