My other advise is go with an 86 SVO. You get the insurance of a 4cyl, but with a little tuning and couple of mods, those cars are quick. You also get the benefits of a five lug car... My boss had a nice one with 17" cobra R's and some work done to it and it was quicker than most 5.0's around here. (A mid-low 13 sec car) And you cant beat the sound of a turbo

Something like this....
Not to mention the Recaro seats. Zach, THIS would be a GREAT first car for you. Get an '85 1/2 - '86 model if you can find one, 205HP. A Comp model would be sweet, but they're few and far between.

you'll find something, i was also looking out for an 87-93, and i found an 86...its awesome, so remember that there are other Mustangs you can find that'll turn out awesome!I found mine for a little under 3000 dollars, so i think you'll find something good and ifyou don't you can find a big block truck for cheap and those are fun too

You'll want a V8 until you see the insurance. For me to have a V8 Mustang I had to have a serperate insurance plan and pay $3000 a year. Needless to say I never got me a Mustang.

i dunno really, my II ios $600 a year and thats all i know. and its a cobra II. i was so prepared to have to pay like $2000 a year for it, but i just....dont.

funny thing, insurance... maybe juist b/c they had such low HP ratings and were 'economical' and small. and it could just be that they're older, but not quite old enough to be a 'classic' car.

but im not complaining

I bought this 1990 GT with 80,000 miles and a fresh 302 with forged internals, B cam, O/R H pipe and new paint the other day for $5K.

Prob also depends where your from. Fox Mustangs are dime a dozen here in Texas.

Oh yea and whats wrong with white

i just started driving on roads and in traffic, becuase for a few years, i drove in an empy high school parking lot....i mostly drive a 1997 lincoln town car v8 with almost 250 hp. It can GET UP AND GO! I have had lots of experience and instruction from my dad, so by now i just blend in with traffic, i dont stick out as an erratic driver....i got the swing of how to operate and handle the car, and i even know how to drive stick shift. my dad says i drive just as good or better as anyone else on the road, and he didnt say that to make me feel good, he really means it.

if you really think a lincoln town car can get up and go, u dont need a Fox

You ever seen a mustang II? They figure wrecking one can only improve it's value. At least when they get wrecked there is a chance otherwise good parts will be removed from the pinto shell

dude im the same age as you heres my plan, i live in FL dont do alotta emission testing here, basically i'm risking alot by taking my car in before i do my perfomace upgrades. so its listed as 210hp. imma go home within the next 2 moths imma drop the engine and tranny put a new 360hp turn key in and a new t-5 (the one used in the cobra R) total peformance build cost=12K

by the way i wouldent reccomend anymore than 300hp as a first car only if you have been driving for a few years. and you know how people are so i'm just gonna say that i personally think i could handle more becuase i've been driving since age 8 (back roads and parking lots) with a mazda then for the last 2 years (i'm 14 now) i have been driving a '03 cobra stock for the first year then 475rwhp for the last 6 months
