oil drain plug/gasket on 85 GT
I have just started to do my own oil changes and was wondering does anyone know what specifications does the oil drain plug need to be torqued to?
I just noticed that there is the occasional drip of oil coming off the oil drain plug.....and was wondering did I tighten it enough?
Also I have two Mustangs......and I think one requires a drain plug gasket and the other does not. Just want to confirm is it my 85 that needs the gasket and my 05 GT does not??

A standard, appropriately sized wrench and your arm muscles are all that's needed. Just get it to stop turning in a reasonable amount of torque... i.e., when you think it's tight, it's tight. If it leaks any, turn it 1/16th more or so. If the pan is warped, well... you probably know what to do then, although that fitting is pretty stout in there, so I doubt it's warped or such.
Can't say as to yes or no on the plug gasket though.
