I recently had the clutch cable in our 93 snap. Ive already gotten it out and looked at everything else to check them. What im wanting to know is what kind of replacement cable should I get? What brands should I look for and which should I avoid? By the way one of the previous owners installed a kit from UPR. It the one that has the blue 3 hook quandrant and the silver/aluminum firewall adjuster. The cable was only 2 years old also.

I have the steeda kit still waiting to install. I keep putting it off because the more I read and the more people I talk to I become more afraid of messing something up and ruining my clutch. I remember reading that a genuine Ford cable is the best quality but since your using the adjuster I think you can only use the adjustable type cable.
If the cable snapped after only 2 years I'd say either bad quality or maybe installed incorrectly and there was to much tension on it(?)

This is from 5.0 resto and it doesn't specify what brand, but its the same price as the ones at Steedas website.

Ive got another question. I found this cable by Ford Racing at Summit and Im not sure wether or not it will work. The one that I took out didnt have the black peice where the cable goes though the firewall. The picture should that but so did the one at UPR. Heres the link to the webpage.

My steeda cable has the same black **** on the end and the instructions say you are to cut it off if using with a firewall adjuster, so that explains why your old one didn't have it. That cable looks like it is exactly what you need.

I installed a Steeda cable in my '93 Coupe after I replaced the clutch and the flywheel and it was horrible. The cable was sticking and causing the clutch to engage erratically as well as being incredibly stiff. I wound up going back to the stock Ford cable which was a huge improvement. I was used the stock cable with the Steeda adjuster with no issues.

I had my X son in law install a steeda cable with the firewall adjuster in my '89 GT Convt. No problems at all. Works fine. I have a Vista Blue GT Coupe on order, almost went with the new convet but decited to keep the Fox. Too much fun to let it go

Just to let everyone know I finally got the cable installed and it works great but I still have to adjust it a little to get it working just right. Also the pedal isnt as stiff.
