Blonde on the phone: "Hello, locksmith...I locked my keys in the car and I need you to come right away
Voice: "Sure. I can be there in an hour".
Blonde: "Please hurry. It's starting to rain and I left the windows open".

glad you got in. You can also pry the top corner of the door out and put something in there to hold it out, rubber coated pliers work or a small piece of wood, then use something to hit the unlock button. A metal rod something thicker than a coat hanger or two coat hangers taped together and bent just right.

I liked the family guy cartoon a few posts up too...
years ago(1996?) went out to warm up wifes car and brush the snow off... took the keyfob off and locked the doors. unlike my other cars, the fob wont unlock with engine on- had to call the locksmith, couldnt slimjim, as a 95 contour uses electric motors to lock/unlock(yeah a dead battery would be bad), but he had a slick tool, like a rod with a hoop on it- push the whole thing under window belting, pull back up, the hoop is inside, push back down and use the end of the hoop to press the lock switch...

I'll give ya $50 bucks now. I can have another $50 bucks next month.
Oh, you mean the lock, not the car... sorry.
Hey, I *said* I wuz sorry!
Anyway, yep. Likely the rod is not on it, so it is spinning around and around and around... gonna have to take the door apart and fix it.
It's NOT that bad. Just irritating, sure, but keep the window up, take the door panel off, and you'll see it right there, pop the thing back on and tada and stuff.
Only problem *MIGHT* be that you will need a new rod clip on it, 'cause it's plastic IIRC. Only way to know is to get in there and see.
While you're in there, throw some grease on the window regulator gears and sliders, 'cause might as well.
