Just Starting to Mod

For starters I am a teenager who recently got my first foxbody, I saved up my money and bought a 90 lx hatchback 5.0. I have already put quite a few mods of it, but none that have really made a difference.

*****my question. What year of the explorer intake can I put of my mustang and pretty much be a direct fit? I have looked at many different forums and done my research. No one has really said what years of the explorer intake would work. I greatly appreciate your help. Thanks for putting up with a kid, but we all have to learn sometime.

The years that the Explorer came with a 5 liter V8….

Ebay has them all the time, usually the 300-400 range depending on condition. You need both a lower and upper, the upper will not bolt to your stock lower. If your keeping the EGR(I wouldn't) then you'll need to make sure it has the EGR ports.

What are you plans with the car anyway? What other mods do you have?

I also had a fox body as a teen. Bought mine when I was 16, my second when I was 18 and the rest, well the list is too long lol. After being without a Fox for a few years I finally got one back in the garage this fall. To be honest, I'm not even going to waste my time tinkering with the stock 302, just going straight to a power adder. With enough boost & a good tune, it'll be right at the limit of the fuel system/short block and I don't have to waste money on parts I may not use once I go with a built motor.

I have under drive pulleys, cold air intake, long tube headers, a sct tuner, ac delete, and smog pump delete. I have mods ready to go on the car just haven't put them on yet. I wanted to put gt40 heads on it and a shot of some magic juice. What years don't have the egr, and what would it take for me to not use the egr?
Thanks for the info.

The tech section has a section on the intake swap. Good luck with your mods.
