In order to change to a v8, you need to change your front clip...or buy a aftermarket one out of a performance shop like sumitt..the front clip from a 4 or v6 car will accomidate the v8. I had a 81 stang that had a inline six. I wanted to do it up to beat v8 stangs(it is possible www.cliffordperformance.com)

how come a 4 or v6 will work, but not a i6?

i dont think ull need a whole front clip, but motor mounts, wiring harnesses, shocks, springs, and all the motor accesories will probably be neccasary

oh a fuel pump possibly as well...

The engine cradle is different.(some people call them elephant ears).If you look at yours then a car with a 4cyl, v6 or v8 in it you will see that they are different. Plus as you know the inline six is long and narrow. That is why ,where the mounts go, is diff.here are a couple pics the white engine bay is for a 5.0, and the burgundy engine bay is for a inline six

Here is a wishlist for stuff to be done to my car... the main list (with updates) will be in the first post.

dual exhaust headers
true duals (with gutted cats)
maybe 300 I6 upgrade?
better rearend (which is best?)
two barrel carb
high rise intake (or shaker scoop?)
3/4 cam? perhaps?
4 wheel disc/5 lug conversion
18x8.5? deep dish bullits in rear, regular in front?
rear window louvers
better subs/amp
really dark window tint
boss-style stripes?
82 GT hood scoop?
one of Hireman's painted ponies (blinging dash emblem :P )
black interior
that's all I can think of now...
