Inline 6 Foxes

We always see threads about 4 cyls, the mighty V8s, even the V6s get some cred. Why do we forget the Indestructible Inline 200??? Seems no one remembers the Early Fox Mustangs had the Inline 200 in em. Anyone here have an L6 Fox ??
My 82, Keli was an inline 6 car in her previous life. Never let me down even in the end. Almost put another 6 back in her but decided to go with my original plan of a 351W.

in the end she didn't look like the little granny GLX with a 6 anymore but she still had it

Who else is hiding the Indestructible inline under their Mustangs hood??

I will likely be one of the few to reply here. Had a 79 Mercury Carpi back in the day with a 200 inline 6. It had a whopping 85 hp I think. I dont hear much about them nor do you ever hear much about the 255 cid V8 that appeared for a year or two. You cant hardly tear up an inline 6 Ford engine though.

I've said it on here before in other topics, but IMO, the 300 is one of the best engines Ford ever made.

There is no doubt about it from a durability stand point. My brother in law had one in a new 93 F150 that was abused the day it rolled off the lot. I mean tortured and abused by tons of different drivers. Sold it with 260K on the clock and it pulled itself out of the driveway. It was so bad he sold it for 100.00 dollars. lol You could not kill the motor and I bet it didnt have the oil changed in it more than 3 or 4 times. They just added what ever when ever.

What he said ^^^. I will say that yes the 4cyl gets mentioned and the V8 mostly due to the fact the most asking help have these engines. We don not talk alot about the V6 and Ford mad e alot of 4cyl foxes. If this was 4 eyed pride then it may more the norm.

when ever someone does a best engine thread I always list the Ford straight six but other than that what else needs to be said
