going to trade my 89 LX w/ 347 for a stock 91 gt
So my LX needs TONS of work. The body is all scratched up, rust everywhere, interior needs to b replaced as well as brakes, and tires. And a bunch of other things need fixing. The only things I added was the MGW short throw shifter and SLP catback.
But I'm trading my friend for his stock 91 GT, clean inside and out. It has a new block and internals. My whole thing is that I want to start with a clean slate but now I'm debating whether to build my 347 or Just buying a crate engine... oh and if u want to know what my car has in it here's the list :
My car came with all of this
o FRPP GT-40 Heads.
o FRPP E303 Cam.
o FRPP 30LB Fuel Injectors.
o Proform Aluminum Roller Rockers.
o TrickFlow Upper & Lower Intake Manifold.
o CHP 347 Stroker Kit.
o BBK Aluminum Underdrive Pulley Kit.
o BBK 70mm Throttle Body w/ EGR Spacer.
o BBK Cold Air Intake.
o BBK Full Length Headers.
o BBK Off-Road H Pipe.
o SLP Loudmouth Catback.
o MGW Ltd Short Throw Shifter.
o FRPP King Cobra Clutch Kit.

If you can fix the rest of the car, rust included, why not do the repairs and upgrade the rest of the car? Chassis and all. I call this the flaccid elephant disorder. A lotta **** and no way to use it.
It doesn't seem worth it to keep dumping money into the 347. I understand the clean slate but if the current one is workable then stick with it. It sounds like the 91 is going to be another car that's being built up. So weigh the options. What would it take to fix your 89? Do you like the feel of and fit of the 89 over the 91? I know there isn't much different but there is a reason I only like the 88-89 models over the others.
If it's worth it to you to either fix your current Fox then keep it and do the car, not the engine some good. If it's worth it to you to wash your hands of the 89 and go for the 91, then go for it. Drive them, stare them down and think real hard about what makes you feel better. Then go with your gut.

I really like both but at this point in my life I don't really have time to do much like I would love to. But my fav car ever is a 89 Notch. That was my first choice but didn't find one in time. Ima get one next but right now I need reliability and last night my fiance told me she's goin to help me purchase all the mods I want. Half and half:-)) but I'm leaning mostly for the 91. Plus it has the saleen wing and 1984 saleen rims which I like very much.
Thanx a million for ur help. I've been breaking my head over this lol
