Fuel pump

I gotta 87 gt and I was wondering if any one else has had problems with yours. I put my gas line to a gauge and it say I only have 20 fuel pressure and from what have read I believe it's suppose to be 45 psi. When I purchase a new one I think I am gonna get a msd high pressure one but idk let me know what you think.

Well. I personally don't think your car needs it unless your boosted. Also check to make sure your filter is just not clogged.

Yeah that was my first thought put a new one on still all boggy and you can tell not enough fuel so then I was lookin and there was a kink inthe line so I replaced that then the guy before me whenhe put the msd distributed on and I look and wire 3 and 4 were crossed replaced plugs after fixing all this it's runs just a little bit better that's when I checked the pressure on the pump an it's low when it idles it's fine bu when you step into it it bogs idk

Refresh my memory? Electric or mechanical fuel pump?

Pull your fuel regulator vacuum hose off while it is running. Is it leaking gas? Did the idle improve? Sounds like a regulator with a bad diaphragm
