Explorer heads and intake

I just bought an Explorer engine, to put in my 85 GT. I already have a set of alluminum heads to put on it. A friend of mine has a Lincoln LSC 5.0 that has speed density, and was wanting to mildly mod it. I have no need for the intake (carb car) or heads and figured I could help him out. but I've always heard of problems modding a SD car.

Stock for stock a speed density car they say is a tad bit faster. Minor bolt on's don't usually cause any problems, it's when you start changing the cam and etc... that you will start having some issues. changing just the heads and intake alone will not cause any problems.
