Next spring i'll be getting some 17" Cobra rims for the stang, and I was wondering if the tires are going to rub in the wheel well. Front tire size would be 245/45/17, does anyone have this size tire on a fox?

PS - Anyone know if 275s will fit on 17x9 rims for the back tires?

17s dont rub but if you get wide tires you run the risk of chewing up the inner bead on the contral arm. Someone did that with one of the wheels on ours. Not sure how wide the rimis though.

I've safely run 255's on the front of several Foxes with an 8.5" wheel.

17*9's fit with 275's in the rear. you may have to remove the quad shock not sure. Rubbing in the front will depend on how low you drop your car. If it sits low then it will rub .

Shouldn't have any problems, there were 17's on mine before i bought it...but be ready to feel every bump in the road.I changed mine to the stock 15's
Are you gonna run these with the 4lugs or convert to 5's?

i think you will be fine with the 245 on the front. it will rub the inner liner on full lock turns. i have 245/50/16 on the front of my 92. they should have be pretty close to the OD of the 245/45/17. my tires look like they are almost the same size as the ones on my wife's 04 GT

I'm leaving it as 4-lug (no money for conversion), and i know its gonna ride worse but itll be worth it. It definitely needs more traction, it's only got 225s on it right now.

i see what ya mean, i have 255's on the back of mine, used to have 275's with the 17's...the bolt pattern just looked weird with the 5spokes...
you can get five lugs and discs of of a 94-98 mustang v8 or gt in a junkyard if that changes anything

It can be done at home, but price varies per junkyard.

Mustang Parts Specialities used to sell 5 lug conversion kits for Fox Mustangs using SN95 parts. Check their website to get an idea of cost.
