Which direction to go?

Ok, so I havent posted in awhile..alright.. a LONG while. I just got done with a motor swap in my 82GT, it's currently running a b303 cam, has had some head work done and longtube headers with cherrybombs, also, underdrive pullys are getting put on it this weekend. I am trying to decide now if I want to just bypass/remove the AC pump or not, I still have the smog pump mounted due to niot being able to find a belt that will fit without it, but I do have a part # for one minus the pump and AC compressor. it's definately not going to be a dd, so I guess I am just looking for opinions.

I've never removed AC so I don't know all the work involved, but I do know its full of less than friendly chemicals lol. I'm not sure it I'd want to do it myself.

If you were looking for just the hp gains, you could use the new shorter belt and not have the AC running, but still leave it physically in there until you can have a pro deal with all the freeon

PS I LOVE the '82 GTs, best looking foxes made. If you've got pics, post em!

If you do remove the air conditioning , you are suppose to have the freon removed by a professional by using a evacuating machine. When You do this make sure you DO NOT GET THE FREON IN YOUR EYES!!!!!!!!!! People use to just slowly release it into the air but stood way back when doing it. comprende>? I think Ford makes a really good kit for removing both also I do think march makes a good kit too. Some of the kits to do this are not as good as others. Some of the kits the brackets that hold the replacement idler pulleys on are too thin and flex and throw belts.

The AC is empty, but on that note.. I am also "supposed" to have a smog pump & an EGR valve too, as well as various other pieces of EPA propaganda ...no sir, this car will not pass an inspection...
