Anyone know where to get a computer (new or used) for an '89 5.0 HO? Does the number F3ZZ12A650EB mean anything to anyone?

I would think your local auto recycler would have a couple handy.

If not, there plenty on ebay ---> mustang computers on ebay

I believe F3 indicates 1993 model. I also think you need to be careful of application. HO 5.0 used a different computer than non-HO 5.0. Had different firing order.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong. This newfangled Fox stuff is all new to me. But it sure is fun.

You are correct, H.O. and non-H.O.s had different firing orders.

I'm thinking that any 89-93 (excluding Cobra) computer will work. They are all mass-air cars with 19 lb/hr injectors. The only diff is the cams are a little different I believe. I could be mistaken on this though.

The F3 part number means '93. There were small differences in cams among the years but nothing that will effect performance for the computer. There are Automatic and 5 speed computers A9P vs. A9L with the main difference being timing curves. 1993 brought about some differences in the way they were labeled. You can buy a computer remanned from your local parts store but they might need the "calibration code" info from the door jamb of the car.

Mberglo has some food for thought. Try some research here for location of 'puters and the codes.....EEC stuff
edit: Then go to Calibration Codes

i believe all the mass air computers from 89-93 will work. and the H.O non HO computers are different. i had an 86Tbird, and an 86 GT and they computers were completely different. if all else fails try www.50resto.com they have everything you can think of. or www.stangparts.com hope this helps
