Budget horsepower

A few of my friends and I are having a friendly competition to see who can have the fastest car, for the smallest amount of money. What are the best bang for the buck modifications i can do? I have a 1993 GT with an automatic and 2.73 gears.

Hey Cbick,

It really depends on how far you want to go! Personally, if I was in a competition like that I would go straight for spray!

A nitrous kit like the Nitrous Express kit can get you going really fast for fairly cheap!

Remove the air intake silencer in the front right fender, install a K&N panel air filter, bump the ignition timing form 10 degrees to 13-14, and run super unleaded 93 fuel. You should be under $75 so far. Take out some weight...spare tire, rear sound deadening under the rear hatch carpet. More money, a pair of high flow mufflers will make a big difference.

I have thought about nitrous before. Do you know how much you can run with stock internals?

For a stock motor fox, I recommend sticking with 100 shot and maybe bumping it up to 125 for track days. They are definitely stout cars but anything more and you're pushing it!

Hope this helps!
