Anyone See Pinks Last Night?

I really thought this was going to be a great episode of Pinks last night. A real modded, track ready '89 with a 403 stroker in it Vrs. a thrown together Firechicken with a 350 w/NOS.

CLEARLY the '89 had them covered, won the first 3 runs, then came back and reported the motor was hurt. On the 4th run, the 403 bought the farm HARD.

Lost the race and the '89. Sad ending for Ford.

I saw it. races between Hardcore Racing from Detroit vs AMP Performance. The 87' firebird was a stroker 383 w/nitrous making 600 h.p. ,the 88' mustang a 408 w/nitrous making 500 h.p. The thing that irritates me about PINKS is that why not let them run whatcha brung no handicap racing(IE) car length's,take your nitrous off etc. Thats crap and defeats the purpose of racing in my opinion. Every episode that a mustang has been on, everyone wants a !@#$%#@!@# handout !!??!! Run whatcha brung will ya, and hope you brought enough!!

Exactly right Chris! That part of the show is retarded. I watch it just to see the cars race.

no because then nobody'd be on the show..it loses its edge. Anyways, i liked the show, on that last run before he blew it, that motor was smoking like crazy, i was telling dad "oh **** dad...its done...thats detonation for sure" and he agreed, anyways then when they were talking about the oil pressure...he laughed and said "hahaha my truck was the same way....junk only had 1/4 guage of oil pressure when it was COLD!" anyways good episode till the real car blew apart!

I thought the purpose of them telling people to bring equal cars would help them to prevent handicap racing (ie) remember the lame Honda civic asking for 20 car length's last season?!! How retarded was that? Just like several racers from the show have said in the past bring a gun to a gun fight, not a dull knife. I'm done with the topic, just hoping it would be a driver's race not a whining session.

I need a DVR........the show is on too late for me out here on EST. Darn daylight savings! lol

When I have seen the show I liked it more for bringing basically street-style racing to television. However I agree with you guys that they could do it differently and end up with a better program.

This is such a dumb show. The handicapping completely negates the need to build a fast car. I could roll up in my stock Kia Rio and say to the driver of the Boss 429 "Okay, give me 10 lengths, and you have to take out your trans and remove one of your front wheels. That should even things out a bit."

If they want to have a 5-race decision, they should have a variety of races, making sure that the cars are sompetitive in all manners of speed and accelerating: 1/8 mile, 1/4 mile, 1 mile, 0-60 mph, 0-100-0, 30-80 mph, etc. That would ensure that the cars are competitive in more areas of performance. It makes more sense then just dumbing down cars that people built.

Must say I love that show.
I watched a friend I went to school with loose his S10 pickup to a big smokey diesle. Yea, he did loose his pick up. But, he got some free advertising for his Dio's restaraunt in Oklahoma City as well as his kit car at http://www.diocars.com/
I guess you have to look at it from a business stand point.
As they say it was all a business write off called advertising.

I will say this tho, I have known Billy Bonidio a lot of years.
And just like General Douglas Mccarthur in the history books.
Well? .
"He Shall Return"

As for the handicapping? thats life. always has been.
For the story of David vrs Goliath would never have survived to this very day without it. LOL. IMO.

I'd like to see them use the actual tree and a bracket type set up rather than baldy dropping his hands. Now if they had some hotty out there dropping the flag would be a different story.

As far as the tree, wouldn't have to see the actual times come up if they didn't want to, but can still use the tree for launching and use time instead of distance in the handicapping. would end all the BS'ing about he left early.

I would prefer the tree too but i guess they want it to be like a streetrace. Having a pretty women dropping her pants i meant hands would be nice though sounds cool too me!!!!!!

I watched the Wed. July 26th Episode last night with the 84' mustang coupe (87 model updates) vs 95' mustang gt . The race's was a little better but my next observation is most of the cars brought, seemed to be scrap parts cars because they rarely complete the show without breakage issue's. A couple of the cars including the 95' last night was almost D/Q for leakage of fuel etc.
