Another horse in the stable!
Well after deciding I wanted a new comuter car, I found my self looking for a auto. convertable fox body!
After some research I decided on a 1990 25th anniversary (7up) mustang 5.0!
I flew 450mi. to take a look at it yesterday morning and ended up driving it home!
(got 24 mpg at 80 mph!) Not too bad!
All original, and I mean everything, even the radio, and it has all original docs. including the window sticker!
Could use a little polish and love but overall a very clean original car!
And for those of you that don't know, they only made 4,100 of these cars, which is kind of cool, maybe some day if I keep it long enough It might be soght after!
So I now I have 3 ponys in the stable, thank GOD I have an awesome wife!
Here Is a pic!

That's awesome James. I remember when they first came out, I was in love. Awesome cars. I actually emailed a guy, Eddie, that had one for sale before I bought my current Mustang almost 3 years ago and he never got back to me. I took it as a sign.
Good luck and congrats!

I fixed the inop water temp gauge tonight!
After testing found it was just a bad temp sending unit!
$9.98 @ Autozone and gauge is back working properly!
Then I flushed out the power steering fluid!
My wife thanks I'm crazy but, this type of work at night relaxes me!

Here is some info that I cut-and-pasted from another post on here -
The 7-UP Bottling Company was to give away thirty of these cars at the 1990 National Collegiate Athletic Association basketball finals in the United States. In an audience participation contest, anyone sinking a basket from center court with one try, was to drive home in one of the cars. At the last minute, the contest was canceled but the cars were already built. They were then sold in very limited numbers to the public.
1990 Limited Edition Mustang Convertible - General Info Production of these cars started in December of 1989, with only two cars being built. Full production began February 2, 1990 with the final car being built May 29, 1990. The convertibles all started out as coupes, and had the hardtop removed prior to shipment to Cars & Concepts of Brighton, MI. The plan was to build 5,000 but only 4,103 were built. The breakdown of the production numbers is as follows:
- Total production: 4,103
- Number of 5-Speeds: 1,360
- Number of Automatics: 2,743
- Number of vehicles exported: 261
The 1990 Limited Edition LX Convertible has some features which differentiate it from other Mustang models. These features include:
- Deep Emerald Green Clearcoat Metallic Paint (code PA)
- Color-keyed body side moldings, fascia moldings and side mirrors
- White Leather Interior
- White Convertible Top
- 15" GT Aluminum
Just found it interesting and thought I would share!

Hey, Congrats on the find. That does sound like it is a special car. I had not heard of these. Was that back when Convertibles were out of production? Looks to be in decent shape too. Enjoy.

Busy day in my garage today!
New motor mounts (both were actually torn apart and broken)
New pas. side inner tie rode end ( found mine had over 1/4" of play)
New fuel filter
New distributor cap and rotor
Oil change!
Installed new door strikers! (Doors now close and open smooth, and line up well)
Installed new (6 pc.) headlight set from LMR, with all new bulbs!
Adjusted rear brakes (parking brake feels perfect now)
Fixed pass. side rear power window (plastic gear was striped out on inside)
Cleaned the rims real good inside and out!
Need to get some new tires this week so I can drive it!
It is tough not many choices in factory size 225/60R15!
I found out one of the tires I drove it home on (450miles) was separated and tearing apart!
I feel so lucky I made it home!
Mechanically it is now good to go drive, just need to do a full interior and exterior detail with a lot of polishing and waxing, then ready for summer cruising!

Got to drive the new ride to work today!
Got my new tires and an alignment!
Top down on the way home, great sunny California weather!
Drives pretty good for a 26 year old car!
