OK, guys. I have a 92 GT and everytime I put in a new fuse for the Fog Lights it blows out. As you know this fuse also causes the airbag to function.

I've checked the wiring running from the lights to the wiring harness and everthing looks entact. What could be the problem?

Electrical problems suck :bang: Just out of curiosity, is the fuse blowin after you switch them on, or is the fuse blowin immediately after you replace it. (Switch off) You mentioned the fuse also controls the air bag, (did not know) there could be a a problem with the bag and not with the lights that's causing the fuse to blow. I always cringe at electrial problems, they can be such a pain to figure out sometimes. Good Luck and let us know if ya figure it out.....

Sounds like you need one of these.
With time and patience you can track down the short.
Thats if you into the perfect concourse show vehicle.

Altho most people including myself would find it easier to just run new wires to the fog lights.

I don't know, but it's worth a shot. It's not too big a deal since I don't drive it in the winter and it's getting close to that time. I'll check 50resto and see what they have.

Thanks

Yea, I have a couple of those. I just haven't used it cause the wiring to the fogs still have the plastic cover on them and don't look worn, but I'll to that test also.

Thanks.

Just got my 50 Resto book the other day, looks like about $60.00 for the switch. (Page 13)(Vol 6) Good Luck...

take out both fog lights, then replace the fuse, try the switch if they still blow its the wiring, if not then put one light in at a time, if it blows then its the lights shorting out.

If that's not it, then it might be the light/wiper arm shorted out.

If your talking about the Head light/Fog light combo switch that at the left of the speedometer than try Auto Zone.

It was 27 bucks. but, that was a few years back. Surely its not up to 60 bucks tho?

I agree with BBB. His suggestion is the simplest method .

The switch itself should be available at your local auto parts store for a few $$ less than on-line.

I had the same problem when I had my '87 GT and it was the switch. They were known for failure.
