okay, unfortunately wrapped my electric red hatch around a tree during a thunderstorm . i had to part out everything to pay it off. now, i just bought a 92 teal lx 5liter and want to do a restomod. i want to get everything back to like new condition, but want atleast 300hp at the wheels without s/c or turbo and keeping the original bore(no more 306's for me). im starting with the intake manifold and a pair of heads. i was wanting to know the hp rating for the frpp gt40 heads and intake combo, but havent been able to get any info out of catalogs

What other modifications does the '92 have? If you just replaced the intake and heads without any other modifications to the intake or exhaust, you would be limiting your HP.

Just a guess, but I'd say the GT40 intake and heads together would net about 40 - 50 hp on most 5.0s.

I reccommend these sites

www.50resto.com

www.ebaymotors.com

and i reccommend a nice cam and exhaust to boost the hp, as well as some AFR or TFS heads, because they add a bit more hp then GT40 heads, i do however like the cobra and gt40 intakes.

i believe MM&FF used the GT40 engine package on a 95GT a little back and got like 290 at the wheels. it had a full MAC exhaust

i understand where you are coming from and that you are set on that setup but if it were me i would go with a B303 cam, trickflow intake, and AFR 165cc heads with 1.7 rockers, that setup should easily be good for 300rwhp with a cold air kit and bigger throttle body and exhuast it probably will be worth more around 350 to the wheels

I don't.....Try getting any warranty help or service from anything bought off ebay....you won't. Scothew bought a pair of control arms off Ebay and they came apart...do you think the seller wanted to help him after the sale? Nope....if he had bought them from a local vendor then he would have gotten after the sale service. Remember that when you buy parts and remember that when you go to a local shop asking for help and they say "sorry, can't help you"

yeah, i try to buy parts from the local shops if possible. usually no shipping, they might charge a little more but the piece of mind if you need help is worth the extra cost

Sorry man, but even with the trickflow intake, throttlebody, exhaust, afr's and cam your not gonna put down 350 to the wheels n/a.

wow, that stinks. I guess theirs always a risk when getting things at discount, but he said it needed restoration, thats why i reccommended ebay because u can find many good items like interior pieces or fenders on their. i guess i should of specified that when i put the link

Yeah ebay is defintely a chance. I took a change on the control arms and got burned, but i've gotten many other things on their with no problems. Just one of those experiences.
