1993 Mustang Cobra Exhaust Question

So I just bought a 93 Cobra, the previous owner had catless Flowmaster H pipes on it and it's excessively loud in my opinion. It's hard to have a conversation inside the car. I'm looking at replacing everything from the headers back. I want to get a nice deep growl out of it while idling and in lower gears but something that won't be too loud while at highway speeds so I could carry on a conversation with someone. I'm looking at a Magna flow x-pipe set with cats but I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions.

Where does your exhaust exit right now? Is it dumped?

Straight H-Pipes back to a set of mufflers. I haven't measured but I think they are 2.5", possibly 3". I figure just adding cats will help quiet it up but I'm not sure if that would be enough.

My friend just put two chamber dynomax mufflers on his 93 catless car. Barely can here it on the highway. Unless he floored it

On my '89 5.0L I have Ford SSC shorty headers going into a Magnaflow w/cats X-pipe, followed by Magnaflow catback. I love the sound of it. It sounds like a Mustang, but not like every other Mustang and it is all stainless.
