WTB: 1967/8 Fastback
At the advice of a friend I am posting this. WTB a 67/8 Fastback that has been restored. I am not concerned with originality, but require very solid/concourse type bodywork. I intend to resto-mod the car and am not as concerned about the mechanical aspects as the entire drivetrain and suspension will likely get replaced.
I've found several cars in the $20k range that don't pass inspection for a good donor car. I don't mind going up in price if it brings a higher quality restoration that will require less work in the long run. I just don't want to spend $50k on a car and dump another $20k getting it "right." Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Ideally a '68 Bullitt clone or '67 Shelby clone. I am prepared to pay for a well done car. Of course I will require a professional inspection. If you know of anyone with a car fitting this description that may be for sale, please PM me.

The interior needs to be completely gone through. The engine (351) just needs a detailing for now. Ultimately, it will get an EFI 8-stack.
The paint is really good. I'd give it a 8/10 with 10 being a true trailer queen/show car. Unfortunately I hate the color. I plan on changing the rear valance to a GT w/ exhaust cutouts, and replace the hood with the deluxe hood with turn signal indicators. And yes, I think I'm going to go with the dark highland green instead of the original standard "Highland Green."

That looks great! I'm not a fan of Lime Gold either but I'd be happy to own such a clean, straight looking '68 fastback. Dark green is my favorite color so I'd be hard pressed to not at least give a nod toward making it look a little like Det. Bullitt's Highland Green conveyance.

Thanks for the positive feedback. I searched long and hard for this car. It took me over a year to find one at what I considered a good price. I can't tellyou how many cars I looked at as a serious buyer, only to have the car not be as good as the seller represented, or sold out from under me (**** Ebay...lol). There was only one car that I considered that was better than this that got away and was $7k more.
All that said, I'm really happy with this one. If you're in the market just be patient and keep your chin up, but be ready to pull the trigger when you find a keeper.
