What's a fair price and what q's should I ask?
I've always a '60s Stang and a couple of days ago I found someone in my area selling a 1966 V6 convertible with a rebuilt engine for $22500. Everything is supposed to be original and I haven't driven it yet but that price seems a little bit high. I have never owned an older car and I don't really know what to ask about it. I'm supposed to go see it soon so any input would be helpful.
thats quite high in my opinion unless you are getting a car you really dont want to drive very much .. and it should`nt have a V6 in it ..look for something about half as much priced ,, be patient ,, there`s zillions of them out there made in the 65-6 era .. 67-8 fastbacks may be a bit higher and 69-70 even more so ..
Its probably and Inline 6 and thats quite a bit of money for one. I've seen really nice, **** near perfect I6s go for $8Kish, but that was a notchback. I guess a Convertible might be a bit more, but not THAT much.
yeah...that seems WAY high. I think 6er verts would go for about the same thing a 6er fastback would. Depending on condidtion, I'd say 13-16K max.
That is a fair price for a show car but not a driver. The paint, lack of rust, condition of the top, condition of the engine, and overall quality of the restoration control the price. If this is your first classic car, think real hard about spending that kind of money. There are a lot of coupes out there for a lot less.
