What to do with old parts from a restoration project?
Hi All,
Newbie question, I'm sure, but what do I do with the parts that aren't being returned to the car during the restoration project? I've got a 67 Convertible, and I'm just at the tear down stage. Immediately known 'non-useables' are things like the interior carpet (and underlay, etc.), a damaged front fender, the bumpers, the convertible top (just the top, the mechanism is excellent)...
I remember, back in the day, that bumpers could be 'exchanged'...still the case? What about the fender, can it be recycled? Do the carpet, underlay and convertible top just go to the landfill?

Alright, again, thanks for the tips...
The carpet, underlay, fuel tank and 22 year old fuel all went to the landfill for proper disposal. It looks like I will have three sections in the garage, moving forward:
1) Keep
2) Keep for recycle or resale
3) garbage

Another thing you can do is to give them to a young guy just getting into the hobby that would for instance love to have a fender thats in better shape than his but barely scraped up enough cash to buy the Stang much less improve it.
