Put 5 leaf rear springs in tonight. Don't have a lift but air tools make it a completely bearable job on the ground. Need to give it a good test drive tomorrow. I think they'll settle in but they really increased the ride height. Good with my big butt in the car.

another exciting day for me...spent another evening scraping undercoating off the 69.
good news is, just about done scraping, a couple evenings with the wire wheels and scotchbrite pads, should be ready to paint 90% of it...the other 10% gets cut out.
man does that cosmoline make a mess...did a great job of protecting the car, but no fun at all returning to bare metal- over 40 yrs later its still like greasy wax goo...got tarp over the driveway, but still see a few spots where I tracked it on the cement...pressure washer time...

I meant to change the oil and install a new dimmer switch. What I DID was strip out the oil pan drain plug. Actually, I think it was stripped out before I got there; the threads came out with the plug. So, I installed the next size up of self-tapping drain plugs and it fixed the problem.

I did end up installing a new dimmer switch. Easy job and now I am ready to drive at night again.

Removed the pony from the grille, got the headlights working and added about a dozen things to the already long to-do list. Two steps forward....12 back.

I bought a set of Scott Drake center caps (black with the horse) and a set of polished trim rings for a set of 14" x 6" Magnum 500 wheels that I have for the car...
The 14"s should work with whitewalls, until I decide to spring for a new set of 15" Styled Wheels!
