Weight
Weight
I'm trying to figure out where I'll be saving weight. Not just think I'm saving weight.
A Kaase built 331 with CHI Aluminum heads, intake manifold, water pump, getting rid of the cast iron headers should help. No idea how much.
How a Tremec 6 speed and clutch compares to a C4 is probobaly going the wrong way. I can't imagine it would be lighter.
The TCI complete front end kit, cross member, steering...all of it, I'm told drops a 100 pounds. Not sure I believe it.
Same with the TCI coil over rear suspension and Currie 9".
Last would be the Shelby GT 350 glass fenders, hood, grill, valance etc. Again, I may be kidding myself thinking fiberglass saves any wright.
I really want this car to handle well and light weight is a basic concept. Anyone think it will be lighter than a stock 69 Mustang? The same? Or crush the sale.
I'm leaving out the air, at least at first But I am not skimping on the best. most comfortable seats I can find.

The worst part will be stripping it down to have it blasted. Everything else is either crate or modules. Engine/trans will already be assembled and ready for installation. The TCI front and rear suspension will be completely assembled with the 9" rear, steering and brakes all in place.
The worst part will be finding someone to fit ad finish the glass body panels. I know that done wrong it will look like crap.
The wiring harness harness, lights, dash all of that will not be complicated but so tedious that I may go postal. By the time I get to that point, the car will look like a car and ready to go but spending days fishing and connecting wires will test my patience and sanity.
It's important that I get the major components in so I don't lose heart.
