Vapor Lock
#1
I have a 1965 Mustang with a 302. Today i started her up and took her for a drive she was running awesome. Then I sat at light for i minute and kinda pretty much idled for about a few minutes. Still she was running ok. Then I turened her of and she desieled. So I went to turn her back on and she tried the battery sounded good the starter was cranking away but nothing. I think this is vapor lock I have had several times stuff like this has happened but not like this. I think that is because my fuel line runs way to close to my headers and value covers my i have no where to move it. Has anybody else had this problem. Sorry its so long

I don't think I have enough information to determine if I think your problem is vapor lock or not but I can give you an even better suggestion to determine if it is the casue of your problem.
One of the oldest (and cheapest) of old school tricks for curing vapor lock is to simply clip on a few clothes pins to your fuel line here and there where you suspect they are too close to a heat source. If vapor lock was the problem then you should experience it no longer and can then invest in some insulation or other means of protection. If it persists then you can begin to look elses where for your problem at least.
Did you check your fuel filters BTW?
OH in case you are wondering why the clothes pin works it's simple, wood disapates heat faster than metal does. Just so you don't think I'm high or something.

So wood being good at dissapating heat is proof that you aren't high?
