Torque Converter
With my tranny rebuild approaching, I wanted to try to find some recommendations on torque converter stall speeds.
As far as I know the one in my car is factory original, but I have not been able to figure out what it's specs are? I also wanted to know what is recommended for a replacement? The engine 351C is all pretty much stock for know, but I will be doing work to that as the project moves along. I am planning a New cam, Headers, possibly new heads or just have them machined and rebuilding the valve train. I don't foresee boring the cylendars at this point in time.
Thanks guys.

That is a tough question to answer. Also the more changes you make to your motor. The more your converter will change it's behavior.
If you are not going to go too cray with your motor. A good 2500 stall would help wake up that beast.
I use a TCI 10" with my C-4. It is a bit too loose for the street but I like it.
But thats a 426W with a decent Cam in it.
You need to really talk to some converter makers. The weight of your vehicle, power of engine, gears in the rear are all important factors along with the type of driving you plan to do with it.
Hope that helps. Good Luck!

Thanks jc69stang,
I don't plan on going too crazy with the engine at least not for a while. I want to add headers and re-do the exhaust. I want to add a more aggresive cam, but I was thinking I should do the whole valve train for that. At which point I might as well have the heads worked over a bit too. The engine work is still in the planning.
But I really don't think I will go too wild with it.
