tire recommendation for 65 fastback

I AM RESTORING THE FIRST CAR I EVER HAD, A 65 Fastback. I am keeping it all original. The wheels that came on it were bias ply tires with the cheaper wheel covers. I want to put the upgraded vintage Scott Drake wheels. HOWEVER, I WANT TO FILL THE WHEEL WELLS AS much as possible without rubbing. I have been told several different opinions from non mustang people. FOR TIRES i am considering b.f.Goodrich T A. However, I really like solid white walls better than white lettering. WHAT SIZE WHEELS AND TIRES WOULD YOU RECOMMEND? I will appreciate any and all help. Thank you. Tc

I just found this thread but, I think that I answered another thread with the same question....

I also have a '65 Fastback, like whitewalls too and am thinking along the same lines as you are with the Styled Steel Wheels.... and I want 15" wheels rather than 14" wheels!

With 14" wheels, the tire size selection in a whitewall is very limited and even the BFG T/As are limited in sizes.
I have 14" BFG T/As on 3 vehicles now....

I was at a show at Golden Gate Park this past October and met a guy with a red '65 Fastback in which the wheel wells were stuffed with Magnum 500 wheels and BFG T/As.

He told me that he has 15" x 7" wheels all the way around, with 215/60/15 BFGs on the front and 245/60/15 BFGs on the rear. No modifications to the suspension or body and it drives just fine....

Looks awesome, too!

I have a long distance picture of the car but, I can't get it to upload...
