4 lug to 5 lug

Is there a convert version kit for this? Or do I have to replace the whole axle?

Yes I'm going to go with disc brakes when I do the conversion. Sorry it took so long to reply. I've Ben having a battle with my headers. Only have about 3in of space to work with. Can't find headers to fit in the tight spot.

I'm pretty sure that on the rear, you only have to change the axles/brakes, but you'd probably be better off having the rear end rebuilt while you're at it.

You have to change the whole rear end. I'm going to try to adapt 4 lug rear discs from an import this winter. I like to be different. Also gonna try to get my 4.5" wide wheels widened to 6".

If you have a V8 installed in the car and it was an original I6 you need to change the whole suspension system over to V8 specs. Even if you could find a 4 lug to 5 lug conversion kit the added weight of the V8 would present a safety problem.

In the front, the only parts that are different are the springs and all steering components including knuckles. Control arms, spring perches, strut rods, sway bar, etc are common. If you're not sure if a part is the same, go online and see if the parts houses specify 6 or 8.

You will also need 65-66 V8 spindles. I did this to my car last year. Just PM me if you need any thing else.
