tire recommendation for 65 fastback

I AM RESTORING THE FIRST CAR I EVER HAD, A 65 Fastback. I am keeping it all original. The wheels that came on it were bias ply tires with the cheaper wheel covers. I want to put the upgraded vintage Scott Drake wheels. HOWEVER, I WANT TO FILL THE WHEEL WELLS AS much as possible without rubbing. I have been told several different opinions from non mustang people. FOR TIRES i am considering b.f.Goodrich T A. However, I really like solid white walls better than white lettering. WHAT SIZE WHEELS AND TIRES WOULD YOU RECOMMEND? I will appreciate any and all help. Thank you. Tc

I have Goodyear Viva 2's white walls on my 66. 205/70 15's in the rear and 195/75 14's in the front.

From what I understand, a 15" x 7" wheel will fit on the front with a 215/60/15 BFG Radial T/A. On the same wheel, a 245/60/15 will fit on the rear...

I had my Mopar at a show at Golden Gate Park in October and I talked to a fellow with a beautiful red '65 Fastback about this as this is what he was running with a set of Wheel Vintiques 15" x 7" Magnum 500s.

The car set stock, the wheel wells were full and looked perfect!

I'm a whitewall guy also. I was thinking that maybe a 205/70/15 will fit on the front and will check on a tire calculator...

Here is a link to compare tire sizes...
