suspension

Hi im wondering if anyone can explain how to install a pitman arm on a 65 mustang,as far as the location on the steering box. the cars suspension was totally dissambled

(This process is a lot easier if the steering column is installed.) Turn the steering box all the way to one side or the other. Then turn it all the way in the other direction, carefully counting the number of turns. Next turn it back to the original side exactly 1/2 the number of total turns. Then install the pitman arm aligning the notches to those on the sector shaft.

If the pitman arm is already connected to the suspension, the wheels should be centered facing forward. In this case you may have to turn the sector shaft ever so slightly one way or the other to line up with the pitman arm.
