New leafs but that raises the question what type of ride height do you want and what type of ride do you want

Air shocks, or air bag suspension helpers, or air bag suspension outright could also be done... although the latter is likely stupid expensive...

I went with the air shocks, and that worked well on Muskrat.

Yea but air shocks come with risk. If you can fork out the 200 for leafs and 100 for new gas a justs you will be much better off

Um... Ok, I'll bite.

What risks? I'm curious and ignorant, and lazy to boot, as I'd rather you tell me than do a google search.

/Muskrat never had a problem wif 'em...

A lot of people run them as it is an easy option to put the car at the height you want but the shock mount points on the body are right under the seat or right behind. Not the thickest metal, and definitely not meant to hold the weight of the entire back half of the car. Just meant to slow abrupt jolts. When you put air shocks on and fill them with air what your doing is taking all the stress off the springs ( which are mounting on the frame not shell) and putting all the weight on those shock mount points( which are on the thin body metal). A friend of mine was running them for a while and one day hit a pot hole and it shoved the shock threw his floor into his cab. Doesnt happen to everyone but if your going to run them just know the risk so you can beat yourself up when it happens lol. ))

+1. Did this on my '69 many years ago. Definitely the way to go.

I would like to get the car so it looks level or a little higher in the rear. I figured I would need new leaf springs but wasn't sure if, to go with stock or a heavier set Are the gas adjust different types or are they all the same . I am not sure what to look for when buying a set . Thanks for the info on air shocks . I was considering them but not now.
